Popolo February 2012 Translations Part 6

Sweet Air - It’s sweet when a girl places her head on your shoulder
Yamada: A girl placing her head on a boy’s shoulder is so sweet.Chinen: I wanna do that too.Yamada: We’re talking about a girl doing it.Chinen: But, I wanna do that.Nakayama: I, wanna be pulled by the arm when I’m walking.Chinen: What? Pick-a-pocket?Nakayama: Hell no!Chinen: Like, “opps, I accidentally took an arm instead of a bag-!”
Nakayama:
Doubt there’s a girl funny like that, cuz it’s not like, a woman from Osaka. Anyways, I think the air is really good walking the shore with a girl.Chinen: N~, I’d prefer like, a walk date and like, sit at a bench for resting, and the air there.Yamada: Then, I’ll teach you the best of the best sweet air. You go to the movies with her, right? Then, you take her home, look at eachother in the eyes, but then, just go home.Nakayama: Oh, I get it-! Like, you make them expect something, and then when you don’t do it, it stretches their interest!Yamada: See? Kay, so to be continued…(笑)

Tsume ga Amai  [sweet](not careful enough to the end) – Hiding your head and not your bottom in hide-and-seek!?
Yamada: Hey! Yuma! Chinen is biting his nails beside you! Look!Chinen: Mmmmm~ my nails are sweet (tsume ga amai).Yamada/Nakayama: Nice.Yamada: Then I’ll teach you the real thing with “tsume ga amai”. I borrowed a charger for my phone, but then forgot my phone and went home!Nakayama: When I went on a shinkansen, I placed the ticket in my front pocket and forgot about it and got off at shin-Osaka.Chinen: You guys are really tsume ga amai. In my case, when I played hide-and-seek before I hid my head and forgot about my bottom. Yamada: Geez~. But, isn’t that imagination or something?Chinen: Nah, I really think there was something like that before. (笑)
Nakayama: I had a friend whose name was Taka, and he always hid his nails.Yamada: Right. Like a clever eagle.
(Note: Taka means eagle, and there is a saying such as “clever eagles hide their claws”. In japanese, claw and nail are the same thing.

Nakayama: Yep. I remember there being a thing with Yamada-kun’s friend.Yamada: Uh-huh. Had a friend called Saru, and he fell off from a tree. Hey! What’s with this saying collection? (笑)
(Note: Again, there is a saying, “monkeys can fall off trees”, and Saru means monkey.)

My graduation is getting closer, so at the same time as being busy, I’m also feeling lonely. I’m thinking of doing all I can right now!

I managed a 3-Pointer!
The other day, when we had basket ball for sport at school, I managed a 3-pointer shoot, and it was so cool. My friend in the basket club taught me, so that I think was working, but it’ll be cooler if I could get that one out in actual games.
